What is Clarity Laser?

Clarity Laser is a dual wavelength laser, providing two wavelengths, the 755nm Alexandrite and 1064nm Nd:YAG. It is able to treat a wide range of conditions as well as provide skin rejuvenation. The laser is able to treat a wide variety of skin concerns, such as freckles, sunspots, melasma, active acne, acne marks, vascular birthmarks such as port-wine stains, veins, as well as long term hair reduction. Clarity also has a body whitening function.Clarity laser uses the heat from the laser to boost collagen production and stimulate cell regeneration. Therefore it is also extensively used for skin rejuvenation and laser facelifts and face shaping.

How does the Clarity laser work?

Pigmentation and Redness

Using a longer pulse duration than other pigment lasers, Clarity can remove stubborn pigmented lesions with its 2 wavelengths.

To more effectively remove hyperpigmentation, the laser also targets atypical blood vessels to reduce the production of melanin, which causes hyperpigmentation such as freckles, age spots and melasma, without harming the surrounding tissue. As atypical blood vessels trigger melanin to be produced, this causes hyperpigmentation. By targeting those blood vessels and breaking up melanin particles to be absorbed by the body, the skin will be left clearer and lighter.

Vascular Birthmarks, Red Acne Marks, Rosacea

To treat vascularbirthmarks, veins, as well as skin redness, the laser targets the atypical blood vessels and shrinks them using heat without harming the surrounding tissue. In
the case of vascular veins and lesions, which are generally enlarged veins near the surface
of the skin, these will reduce their appearance. For vascular birthmarks and skin redness such as rosacea, the shrinking of the atypical blood vessels will reduce blood flow to the area, thus decreasing the red colour in those areas.

Skin Rejuvenation

To improve skin texture, Clarity laser uses heat to trigger a controlled injury response in the skin. When the heat from the laser causes micro lesions in the skin, the body’s natural response to injury is to boost collagen production. This increase in collagen effectively raises the scar and fills it in, with reduced downtime as compared to traditional ablative lasers, which use heat to take off the top layers of skin to resurface it.

In addition to texture, Clarity also improves the face shape, giving a more lifted look as well as a more defined jawline

FAQ – Session duration, treatment process and downtime

How long does each session typically take?

This depends on what the patient is undergoing Clarity laser for.lt can be as quick as 10min for removal of pigmented spots and patches or veins or acne treatment. For skin rejuvenation that includes face shaping and lifting, it can take around 30 to 45min.

How many sessions does it take for me to see my desired results?

Again, this depends on the indication of the laser. Whitening, brightening and face shaping will be seen immediatly after the laser procedure. For permanent hair reduction, usually 3 to 5 sessions are needed to see the changes in hair thickness and density.

What is downtime like?

Most of the Clarity procedures have zero downtime, except for freckle and sunspot removal. Patients are able to go about their usual activities after the laser.
